Aimpoint Research®, a global strategic intelligence firm, recently welcomed Col. (retired) Ken Gilliam, former Director of Strategic Wargaming at the U.S. Army War College, to the team as Fusion Leader. He will play a pivotal role in leading the integration of multiple complex market research and competitive intelligence projects for clients and help meet increasing demand for Aimpoint Research wargames.

“Fusion Leaders are at the center of our intelligence integration as we serve clients across the entire agri-food value chain,” said Brett Sciotto, Aimpoint Research founder and CEO. “Ken brings a wealth of experience in strategic thinking, integrated intelligence, leadership, wargaming and much more. Our organization and our clients will benefit greatly from his perspective and analysis and I could not be more excited to have him join our team.”

Ken grew up in a farm community in South Georgia surrounded by watermelons, peanuts, cotton, and cattle. After graduating from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, he embarked on a 27-year military career in the U.S. Army. He holds a Master of Science in Operations Research from Georgia Tech, Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College and is a credentialed Assistant Professor at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and the U.S. Army War College. In addition to serving as the Director of Strategic Wargaming, Ken was the founding associate editor of the Wargaming Room, a U.S. Army War College online journal and podcast.

“Wargaming is one among many tools used to explore the art and science of decision-making, especially in situations where uncertainty and the unknown are the dominant factors,” said Ken. “I am excited to join Aimpoint Research and view this position as a continuation of service helping clients frame their problems in innovative, actionable ways.”

Ken has been with Aimpoint Research since March 2021 under the U.S. Army’s Career Skills Program.

“After more than 30 years away from the farm, it was helpful to take this time to get up to speed on all the issues and current complexities of the agri-food value chain,” said Gilliam. “The Aimpoint Research team has done an excellent job of exposing me to these dynamics and helped ease my transition into the civilian world. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and start making a difference.”

About Fusion

The sheer volume and complexity of data and information available at our fingertips is making it harder for leaders to filter through the noise and discover what’s really happening (ground truth), what’s going to happen (foresight), and what to do about it (strategy).

Fusion is an integrated intelligence practice that fuses data, information, and insights from multiple angles and sources. This unique process provides Aimpoint Research clients a competitive advantage by allowing leaders to look around corners, see their way through the noise, and chart a path to success with confidence.
